Zonta International Inspires New Approaches to Advocacy

Zonta International is encouraging greater advocacy and action among all districts and clubs in the 2012-2014 Biennium. Zonta’s International Advocacy and United Nations Committees engage in action at the international level and alert members to opportunities for advocacy at the district and club levels.  You can read more about Zonta’s International efforts at www.zonta.org

Inspired by Zonta International, the Zonta Club of Guelph is focusing on becoming more action-oriented in our advocacy efforts. Locally, we will be working to educate club members and the community about pressing issues related to all forms of violence against women including abuse, poverty and trafficking, and to women’s physical and mental health. Our efforts will include: a monthly report to the general membership; a regular advocacy feature in our quarterly newsletter; and the use of social media, including twitter and Facebook to raise awareness about issues facing women.

We have a lot planned for 2013! Come out to our events that raise awareness about the status of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally.

November 25 to December 10 marks the 16 Days of Activism.
