16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women

16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women

For nearly 100 years, Zonta International has contributed to help achieve a world free of violence against women and girls.  Fittingly, we begin our sixth Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign today, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Between November 25 and December 10, International Human Rights Day, we celebrate the incredible progress that has been achieved in women’s rights issues, but there is still much to be done. Research any of these topics at a Global or Local level and add your voice and influence to achieve lasting change for women and girls around the world.

There are so many opportunities to make a difference: donate time or money to organizations which provide support and/or raise awareness; participate in activism campaigns; raise awareness of issues through social media; contact your political representatives to demand their attention to the issues. These are just some of the options available. Each of us can make a difference in our own small way, and each small contribution put together will have a huge and significant combined effect.
