Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.
In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.
In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
Zonta Club of Guelph
The Zonta Club of Guelph was founded in 1979 and since then has been actively contributing to women and children in the Guelph community and the world. Through both hands-on projects and the funding of local and international initiatives, the Zonta Club of Guelph harnesses the talents of each member and magnifies individual contributions to have lasting impact in the lives of women and their families.
To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local level through service and advocacy.
To work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions.
To promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
To be united internationally to foster high ethical standards, to implement service programs, and to provide mutual support and fellowship for members who serve their communities, their nations, and the world.
Zonta International, its districts and its clubs are nonsectarian and nonpartisan.
We Work Hard
Through our Betty Thompson Golf Classic and other fund raising and hands-on initiatives, we have been able to provide substantial financial assistance for breast cancer research, scholarships for young women and support for a wide variety of local organizations helping women and children. We also sponsor Z Clubs at 2 area high schools, J.F. Ross and Centennial CVI. In partnership with the Zonta Club of Cambridge, we have donated 6,000 birthing kits to women in Haiti and Central America.
